LAUREL AWARD RECIPIENT ANNE MOOT
The Laurel Award honors a woman whose quiet strength, steady dedication, and exceptional gifts have shaped our club in ways that often go unseen but never go unfelt, recognizing a member who has, over many years, contributed far beyond what is expected out of genuine devotion to our mission and to one another. As former presidents, we continue not only to serve but also to observe the behind‑the‑scenes members whose generosity, creativity, and unwavering reliability lift the whole organization. The award celebrates humility in leadership, consistent service, unique talents, commitment beyond responsibility, and a quiet but powerful influence that strengthens traditions and inspires others. This year’s recipient, Anne Moot, embodies these virtues through countless contributions: securing a major grant for our roof replacement, leading Chair Yoga on Zoom to keep members connected and well, enriching our musical life through devoted committee service and piano accompaniment, and—most significantly—sustaining our weekly programs during the pandemic by securing speakers who kept our mission and our sense of community alive. Her service reflects character, endurance, and heart, making our club stronger, kinder, and more vibrant year after year. Not only do we say “thank you,” but “we see you” — and we are better because Anne is one of ours.”
